Brother Jack Francis Caffrey laid down his working tools

Brother Jack was initiated June 10th, 2017, passed on February 12th, 2018 and raised on August 4th, 2018. His mentor was Worshipful Edward Brooks Jones of Sharon Lodge No. 327 in McLean, Virginia. Brother Jack came into the Craft with a burst of positive energy ready to help advance the Lodge in any way he could. The members elected him as Secretary of the Lodge where he could be most utilized to help run the administrative needs of Sharon Lodge in December of 2018, just a few months after being raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. His zeal for the institution was evident from the very beginning. Although he had some mobility issues, yet he never let that get in the way of the responsibilities of the job that he loved so much. After serving two years as Secretary, Brother Jack stepped down to allow for other Masons to have new opportunities. He continued to help Sharon Lodge in the transition to the new officers so that his successors could flourish.

Brother Jack was a member of the DeMolay Chapter that met at Kemper-Macon Ware Lodge No. 64 during his youth where he served as Master Councilor. He then went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps in 1969. These both helped to mold him into the leader that he was to the day that he laid down his working tools on November 12th, 2023. He is survived by Debbie, his loving wife of 48 years, thousands of Masons throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and millions of Marines around the World.

Brother Jack can be remembered for his love of the Craft, his Family and his God. If he was in the room and someone made him laugh, it always brought a smile to your face. Such a unique cackle that was unmistakable.  Sharon Lodge with the assistance of Kemper-Macon Ware Lodge will conduct his last rights in a Masonic Service prior to his Memorial Service on December 1st, 2023 at 11:00am at:

Everly Funeral Home

Master Masons will convene at 10:30am for the Lodge of Sorrow.

On behalf of Brother Kevin Franklin Thomas (Jack’s brother-in-law), Sr. Warden of Kemper-Macon Ware Lodge No. 64.
